Just ate here and it leaves a lot to be desired. You come in, place your order, they give you a tag for your table so they know where to bring your food, you eat them you clean your table and put away your dishes. For starters this is not my work. I'll be there in two hours. The reason you pay to go out to eat is to receive a service not to clean your table and put away your dishes like you are an employee. Second the presentation of the plate is very unappetizing. The food lacks flavor and quality, the staff seemed confused where to put people's food asking us if we had a single plate of something we didn't order. Over all, it's disorganized, you have to do work, the food lacks flavor, the place could be cleaner and let's also talk about the excessive posters that are political. I'm all for a good debate but it is my option politics have no business in a restaurant. Maybe focus on your food and service. The music is really good though. Not coming back though. Not my cup of tea but thank you for reminding me what it was like to eat in a school cafe.
Love this unpretentious gem of good eating in downtown. When the cashier describes the potatoes as "just a tater tot kind of thing," understand that it will be the most fantastic tater tot that exists on the planet. Gave 5 stars for atmosphere but understand: that is because it is plain and normal cafeteria decor, which I really appreciate in the over-chic landscape of crazy foodie culture. Our new favorite.
Food was great; freaking phenomenal, the chicken biscuit was pretty good and croissant was ok and the loaded home fries were freaking good like my god they were good, would recommend this place
Love it. My wife and I go here most weekends. I always order the spicy chicken biscuit with a side of hash browns. The entire ensemble is excellent. My wife gets the corn turkey hash or avocado toast - both also excellent. Go on the weekends when they offer the best homemade donuts in town - different every week. The specials are always special. Everything is home-made.
My wife and I have been regulars since the first day they opened. This place is not to be missed during a trip to Portland. Everything is made with love and taste like it came out of your mother’s kitchen - assuming she was a master chef.
DO NOT MISS THE TRADITIONAL BREAKFAST SANDWICH. BEST ON THE PLANT!!!!!! My favorite - egg/homemade English muffin/maple sausage/cheddar. You’ll be amazed at how incredibly delicious such a simple sandwich can taste.
We LOVE Dutch’s. We eat here every Saturday morning and have not had 1 bad experience. Their bread is made in house and during the summer they bring in fresh produce from around the local area. Their blueberry jam is amazing I get it every time to put on my bagel. Their pastries are also made in house. The blueberry muffin is a staple and they feature 2 donuts every weekend that rotate flavors. I have not had the same donut twice since July. It does get pretty hot in the summer time in there but a lot of places around Portland don’t have A/C. We will be moving soon and we’ll definitely miss this place! Definitely try this place. Also, if you come at 10 or after be prepared for a line out the door. It can sometimes take up to a half hour to get to the front counter where you place your order. Enjoy!
Recommend: Crispy hash browns, grilled banana bread with butterscotch sauce!, and any of the pastries but especially the blueberry muffin.
I loved this place. The food was amazing! I had a wonderful savory danish with apple, sauerkraut and swiss. They make their own home fries that were great. And a broccoli hash was also good. And they had all the breakfast basics. Good sweets.
The atmosphere is casual (not snobby).
I highly recommend this place.
The burrito I got was amazing. I usually don't like potatoes but this was delicious. My girlfriend got the salmon bagel and she loved it. If it's not busy, you can easily find a seat. The place is mostly self serve. Great for breakfast
